Other telephone counselling for anyone experiencing bullying or other problems includes:

  • National Child Protection Helpline (NSPCC), Freephone 0800 800500. A 24-hour helpline for anyone concerned about children at risk of abuse (including bullying).

A recent 'MORI' survey of 2,600 secondary school children, for the Association of Teachers and Lecturers, revealed that one in three had experienced bullying in the preceeding 12 months. Many children believe and fear adult interference as they think that the problem can be worsened either from being labelled as a ' tell tale' or when the adult input has been inadequate of half- hearted.
