Breathing exercises and relaxation tapes help to de-stress. Put on
your favourite music and take time out to unwind. As a new mum, you
can be so wound up in looking after your baby's needs that you forget
your own.
A long, hot bath and a massage from a partner or friend are other simple
ways of pampering yourself.
Regular exercise is good for releasing tension and improving general
well being.
Mothers can be in a lot of discomfort after birth. Lavender and cypress
oil can be added to a bath to help soothe.
