Overview
It is within everyone's capacity
to cut down on stress but there are many ways to go about it. Anything
that you enjoy doing will help dissolve stress, whether it is listening
to music, taking exercise, going on holiday, reading a good book or
seeing an enjoyable film. Make sure you give yourself time to do something
like that quite often and it will usually pay dividends. But lots of
people need to go a stage further and look at other techniques for tackling
stress. Again, there are numerous different approaches.
Stress at work
This is one of the biggest health problems in the UK. Often it stems
from a feeling of lack of control. The other common cause is too much
pressure combined with poor lines of communication. If you feel stressed
at work, be honest about it. Talk to your colleagues, manager or personnel
officer. If you feel unable to do that, consult your doctor immediately.
There are recognised avenues of help.
